Discord, YouTube, Google and PayPal have nothing to do with these rewards. They do not run them, sponsor them, or endorse them. Your contact is the organiser named above.
Taking part costs nothing. No purchase, no subscription, no payment at any point. If anyone ever asks you to pay to enter, it is not us.
Anyone who is a member of this server can take part and can win.
Not eligible: anyone holding the Crew, Moderator or Palm Mile role. The people who run the server do not compete in it.
There are three ways, and they run in parallel.
The current rules, amounts and thresholds are published in the
#how-it-works channel. That channel is part of these
terms.
Everything is counted from what you post in this server. Nothing is counted anywhere else.
Prizes may be money, Discord Nitro, or roles. Money is paid in US dollars by PayPal. If you are 18 or older, you choose between money and Nitro. If you are under 18, you receive Nitro (see section 6). Where your place is worth $35 or more, Nitro means one year of Nitro Basic or one month of Nitro, you choose. Otherwise it means one month of Nitro.
The prize pot, how it is split, and the exact amounts are published
in #how-it-works and grow as the server grows. The pot
opens when the server reaches 100 members. The first month that pays is
the first full calendar month after that. The month in which the server
reaches 100 members does not pay. Once open, the pot stays open, even if
the server drops below 100 members again. From then on, the amounts that
stand in #how-it-works at the end of a month apply to that
month.
The two leaderboards are decided by performance, counted from this server's own records. Not by chance.
The draw is decided by chance, from all tickets in that month.
The month role can be won in two ways: a share of the tickets in the
draw wins it, and anyone who reaches the posting threshold gets it
without the draw. Both shares are stated in
#how-it-works.
One money prize per person per month. If you come first on more than one list, you receive the prize on the clip leaderboard, and the next person moves up on the other. Roles, the month role and Nitro are not limited this way.
Months are counted in German time (Europe/Berlin), because the organiser is based in Germany. A month ends at midnight German time. For members in New York that is 6 pm local time on the last day of the month, or 7 pm in the weeks when only one of the two countries has changed its clocks.
Tickets reset on the 1st of each month. There is a maximum number of
tickets per person per month; it is stated in
#how-it-works.
Whether a clip is used in a video is decided by the organiser alone. There is no right to have a clip used, and no reason has to be given.
Winners are announced in the #winners channel.
Type /claim in #winners. Only you see the
answer.
Money: we pay by PayPal. /claim asks
for the email address of your PayPal account. We never ask for a
password, a card number or a bank account.
Nitro: the answer contains your gift link. You can see it again for 30 days after your first claim. If you already pay for Nitro through the App Store or Google Play, a gift is added as account credit and only applies once you switch to a desktop or browser subscription.
When the prize is in your account, you can confirm it with a button.
You choose whether your name is shown with it in
#hall-of-winners, so everyone can see that you confirmed it
yourself. Without your name, it counts just the same.
Roles are given automatically.
You have 7 days from the announcement to claim. After that we remind
you once, by direct message, or with a mention in #winners
if your direct messages are closed. If we get no answer within another
7 days, the prize goes to the next person.
Prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred to someone else. Where a choice is offered, you make it once, before we pay.
You must meet Discord's own minimum age for your country to take part.
You can take part in everything and win everything.
If you are under 18, you receive Discord Nitro instead of money, because PayPal needs an account of your own. Choose Nitro when we ask how you want your prize. We do not ask for your age, for a parent's consent or for documents.
In Germany, prizes from a competition like this are normally not taxable income for the winner. If you live elsewhere, that is your own responsibility.
Arranging with other members to credit each other as inviters counts the same, and so does anything else that works around these rules rather than within them.
If we see this, you lose your entries, your roles and any unpaid prize, and we may remove you from the server. Borderline cases are looked at by hand before anything happens.
To run this we store:
If one of your clips is used, the name you chose appears in the credits of that video and in the credits document linked under it. That is public. We never ask for your real name, and you decide what we credit you as.
If you win, your Discord name, your place and the amount are posted
in #winners. #hall-of-winners lists the amount
and whether the prize has arrived. Your name appears there only if you
choose to show it when you confirm that your prize arrived. Otherwise
the line says “a winner”. That is public and stays there, so
everyone can see that prizes are really paid. It never shows how you
were paid, when you were paid or your PayPal address.
If you do not want your name in these lists, or change your mind later, write to contact@palmmile.com. We then replace it with “a winner”. The amount and whether it arrived stay, so the payout can still be checked.
If you leave the server or ask us to delete your data, we do the same in these lists: your name goes, the rest of the line stays.
We also keep a private record of each payment: your Discord name and user ID, the amount and the date it was paid. It is not public and contains no address. It stays when you leave the server or ask us to delete your data, because it is our record that we paid you. We keep it only as long as it is needed for that.
Your PayPal address is stored encrypted on our server, used only to pay your prize, and deleted seven days after we have paid you.
In both cases the prize stays yours. To get it, type
/claim again or write to
contact@palmmile.com.
If you lose a prize under section 8, your address is deleted at once.
We do not sell your data and we do not pass it on, except where the law requires it.
You can ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. Write to contact@palmmile.com.
We can change these terms and the amounts in
#how-it-works at any time, with notice in
#announcements. Changes never apply backwards to a month
that has already ended.
Every version carries a number and a date. Older versions stay available.
We can stop the rewards at any time. If we do, anything already earned in the month that is running is still paid out.
German law applies.
There is no legal right to any prize, and recourse to the courts is excluded as far as the law allows.
If one part of these terms is invalid, the rest stays valid.
